Default call your insurance company

We all say it, we all plan to do it, but today I finally went on line and got a quote for car insurance, and then called my company (GEICO) to tell them I was considering switching if they wouldn't lower my rate. I got $98.09 taken off for this 6 months, and if I don't do anything bad between now and March, I'll get another $30 taken off for that 6 months.

Just wanted to remind everyone that if this is on your list to do, it only takes about 20 minutes on line and on the phone. That $128 dollars will be real handy going towards my 2007 goals!

Mine was reduced today but that was because I finally got around to telling them I sold one of our vehicles. They back dated the change so it didn't matter that I forgot to call. Everytime I get online to do that the quote comes back higher so I stopped doing it. Maybe I should try again.

What site did you go to get the quotes. Whenever I get any quotes, they are always higher. I also worry about customer service. I am with AAA Michigan. Have been with them since 1980. No complaints, problems, or issues when I need to make a claim.

I was with State Farm for my auto insurance for over 10 years. Once a year I would call them to see about discounts. Sometimes I got a little taken off the amount. Then I researched other companies and amazingly enough found a place where my deductibles are cut in half and my payment is also cut in half. They also were able to cut $200 a year off my home insurance.

I had Geico and got a quote from Progressive. I didn't look anywhere else, because using the Progressive information brought down my Geico premium.
