Default Quicken Question

I started using quicken about 3-4 months ago. I had been really good about adding reciepts fr about the first month, then got lazy. My question is would it be better to just add 2-3 months of reciepts or should I just delete everything and start over. I have never balanced anything on it and it is not hooked up to my bank checking account.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Anita

If your bank allows it, why not just start downloading everything from here on out?

I hate downloading from the bank. I know it is the norm and many people do it but I never connect my Quicken to any bank account services. I just record in Quicken and balance against the online banking manually.

As for the original question, I'd suggest, if possible, start a new Quicken file using January 1 as the start date. That way, you can commit to keeping up with your data and records for the year, starting afresh now.

Best wishes, whatever you decide.

I agree. I usually try and add my receipts every couple of days. Otherwise my wallet gets really fat!

Make a habit of it and it will be like autopilot.

Start over, it's not worth the time.

If you do start over, at least start over from Jan 1 so you'll have the whole year's data to work with at the end of 2007.

I can't get Quicken's download feature to work at all (it keeps saying there is an error), so I have to enter it in manually!
