Just thought this was interesting to share. So many last-minute provisions made after the tax returns went to press means some things to watch out for, for pen&paper-prepared returns.

IRS Issues Guidelines for 3 Late Tax Code Provisions

The Internal Revenue Service has issued instructions for teachers, college students and others who want to take advantage of provisions of the tax code enacted too late to be included on printed 2006 forms.

Those three deductions are probably at the top of the 'most likely to miss' deductions anyway - imagine how many people will miss them this year since they are not on the forms. Another reason to hire a tax pro!
