And isn't it funny that so many people, who don't seem to be "doing the right things" to get a high score, have one?

Another factor: I understand that some people with a relatively new credit history start out at a higher score than the score that some people with a longer history have obtained. You don't start out with a 350 and go up from there.

yes PW it is.

my score has never really been bad but when I was a multi card carrying, debt payin', car payment havin' zombie my score hung around the mid 700's


when I left all that, paid everything off and canceled all but the one card, only then did my score begin to climb. it does seem stuck where it's at now though because I've been there for some time.


when I finally buy a house (here soon hopefully) I'll be interested to see exactly what the whole process does to my score.
