We have medical bills from my husbands emergency surgery and hospital stays and subsequent Dr visits and I won't know the true figure until the state insurance commissioner looks into it. I just sent off the claims paid by the insurance company and I'm disputing alot in our policy. For instance on surgery that was 5500.00, they paid the surgeon $220.00. I bet that Dr. was laughing all the way to the bank. But, that's all that we owe, so I'll have to wait for the mediation to know what the numbers are. Everything else is paid except for the credit card which gets paid off monthly.

LOL. It's okay it's the only way to buy in high COL places is to buy slowly and move up. Unless you want to try for $750k SFH first time out of the block.

110K Student Loan (damn law school)
10K car loan
We rent so that's it. I should have that law school loan paid off in time for my retirement in 35 years so that's good, ha!

Zero.

Renter.
No student loans. (Took me 14 years to get an AA. Meh.)
Car-2000 Saturn bought used with cash for $8k. Has 37000 mile son it.

I have had debt. I didn't like it. I live way below my means now, because being debt free is my favorite luxury.

About 8k, including CC bills, Medical Bills, and car payments.
Plan to be free of all debt by the end of 2007.
