I could pay off my debt at any time also. I just chose not too until we close on this house and have all the cash back in the bank. I could also pay off the car, but I am almost afraid to do it. If I did, my husband would want to buy a new one cause this one is paid for.

It's going to take me some time too... two more years of grad school until I have a *real* job (and income) where I can pay off my car & edu loans faster.

If it weren't for what we owe on my husband's surgery. We would be there to zero. Right now we're getting the insurance commissioner to help us with our insurance company. Long story about them but, I don't know yet

How many miles do you have on the Camry? I had a 91 that I traded in with 127K and now I've got a 98 with 95K. If I was still driving a 1989 model, it would have to have well over 250,000 miles on it by now.

My Corolla is at 150k. I just had an alternator replaced, but besides that, it's humming along quite nicely.

About 5K$ on car loan (not paying it off cause the interest is at 1.9% and all investments return significantly more). However, I am looking at houses with SO right now, so I'll have have to add about 180K$ mortgage to that soon! Turns my stomach in knots to think about it, but we do have to get a house and the total of my investments and my SO's investments do cover the mortgage (2/3 of those investments are my SO's......I'm the attorney, she's the teacher an she's got the money.....go figure)!

About $192,000 in mortgage, and that's it. All other bills are paid off as they come in. Though this isn't as daunting since we have an emergency fund that would help us ride out a rough patch, and then other funds/investments that could allow us to ride out a really long rough patch.

Hopefully we'll be able to be totally free of debt someday, but since my wife and I are 27, I feel we're in pretty good shape.

House on 10 Acres = $100,000 mortgage
Car Loan = $8780
School Loans = $28000 (myself 4 years, wife 6 years of school - she's a pharm D)
Truck Loan = $18000

We're tyring to pay everything off in 3.5 years. On the upside, our assets total more than our liabilities...so that's good

CC $17k
DH's truck, $14k (I think...)
House $150k

CC debt I hope will be gone in a year or two. About the same time the truck will be paid off as well. But at that point both my car and DH's truck will need to be replaced, no way to do cash for both (one or the other, not both!). Likely we'll buy a cheap used car for me and a new truck for DH, hopefully the loan won't be too big!

But we have enough equity in the house to cover our debt, so we do have a positive net worth.
