Default Parents United business?

I just read an ad in a magazine for something called Parents United. It says it is a wellness company and that you can work from home with no selling. Have any of you heard of this? Is this just Herbalife/Shaklee for the 00's?

I did a search, found the site. I just have one thing to say: It's sad when the "founder" of a company can't use the company's own domain for their email address. If you want to create a company, use the company domain in your email address. Don't use a third party dial-up internet company. Other tips: Use a real business address, not a rented box from mail boxes etc. Don't put your home phone number on your domain registration.

That said, based on my observations, it's a crap company trying to sell more crap.

They sound like melaleuca with just another team name. I would stay away.
They are an mlm that you need to recruit others and also need to buy about $30-$50 each month of all natural health/wellness products.

Type in Melaleuca scams and you will find out lots of other info. They have team names for the recruiting like Moms Team, Moms dream, Women united etc etc

Thanks you guys! I had emailed to get info (using my throw-away/spam email address, of course) and got a call from a woman who kept insisting that it wasn't an MLM (Um, yes it is an MLM.) and that no one had to do any selling -- just marketing!! (Which is complete BS -- they are just using the word 'marketing' in place of the word 'selling'.)

Stay away from melaleuca or Parent's United!

melaleuca is a company that sells natural products using an MLM system. Sort of like Herbalife, NuSkin, or Shaklee...except more evil.
It is a scam, as I quickly learned (thanks, all!).

There are other home office businesses that are legit and are not MLM (Make Little Money). But if you are a legit business, you must move a product or service. You have to work your business, but they can be quite lucrative and have great tax benefits if you know which one to work with.

Melaleuca is also the botanical genus name of the tree from which "tea tree oil" comes. Long ago, I think it was the only product of this Melaleuca multi-level marketing company.

Ha-ha---haven't I told the story here of how, in my more innocent days, I approached a stranger who had a Melaleauca bumper sticker, and told him I'd like to buy some product? The guy never did sell me any! Instead, he launched into a recruitment talk. I just wanted to buy some product and he had no interest in selling it to me; he just wanted to sign me up under him. Fortunately the little bottle of tea tree oil I already had lasted many years until I could finally buy it in regular US drugstores.....Stay away from MLMs.

tea tree oil – A recent report has linked tea tree oil and lavender oil to young boys growing breasts. Many shampoos and other consumer products contain the ingredients. When the boys stop using the products, the symptoms went away within several months.

Yes, MLM's are an antiquated system that generally do not work. There are far better home office businesses that do work.
