Default Millionaires and their plans

AOL has a millionaires site http://money.aol.com/millionaire

There are couples here who are making it happen on a cash only basis, through their 401's, pay yourself first technique, etc. Interesting to read if you have AOL.

Quite an interesting set of articles. Definitely food for thought in terms of how their strategies can be applied for my own use. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the link. I particularly enjoyed the story of the Claudios as I am a registered nurse myself.

Thanks for the link. The Claudios live less than an hour away from us.

It has some great strategies. However, it seems that owning real estate prior to the boom seems to be the common theme. What about those of us who weren't in a position to buy until AFTER the housing boom?

I've notice one small thing about the profiles for some of the people in the articles. I've read a few of them over the last couple of months, some of the articles AOL has had that show how people are saving and such. The theme I've noticed, is that none of them have children. Or at least the articles don't mention children. I can relate to these when both my wife and I were childless and working full time. Now we have two boys (2 and almost 1) and wife works part time. I'd just like to see some of the folks saving to be millionaires with two or three children.

This is a very interesting website - and also very inspirational - thanks for sharing it with us. Someone recently told me of a book called "The Millionaire Next Door", that sounds a lot like the theme of this site. Basically how average people with ordinary jobs are living frugally and becoming millionaires. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my list. Anyone hear about this?

Yes, that is a good book. It is mostly self employed people with their own small business. They work hard and save their money. They don't have big fancy home, expensive cars every two years, designer clothes, fancy watches, etc. They create their own wealth and then they save most of it.

I think millionaires would invest their money, not just saving.
Wouldn't you agree with me on this one?

As you see future down the road, do you see youself being able to become a millionaire? If the answer is no then may be it is a good time to make some changes.

Just my 2cents
