If you fit the requirements and avoid the fee, then that's a different situation altogether.

Otherwise, I disagree with the valuation. However, it is not relevant to my point anyway, which is that people should make themselves fully aware of fees and stipulations for any rewards card and program. Surely you agree that is a wise course of action. That is all I was pointing out.
