Thanks for posting this. I'll be sure to watch.
Why can't she stick to one day of the week for things like money, health, fashion, celebs, etc.? |

I feel the first young lady, age 24, learned a lot about acceptance for who you are and not for what you have. She thought all the movie stars were actually paying for all the expensive clothes they were wearing or the cars and other perks they had until she heard the movie stars say they were given these things. I thought she came from a wealthy family but she said her family wasn't rich at all. Her father said he had to bail her out of $160,000.00 worth of debt. Someone had money to fund her desires and how she was able to keep up with the stars and have all those shoes and wardrobe and Yorkshire pups I don't know. She even wanted to become a size 2 because most stars are that size, she said. Selling all of that to pay her debt would be better than just giving the stuff away. She said she was spending $3,000.00 a month trying to keep up with the newest trends. Oprah told her movie stars get a lot of items for free because of who they are. The dress designer also said he knew all the stars and that their lives were far from famous! I believe people have a fantasy about living like stars and forgetting that these movie stars are actually human like we are! That they have zits and cellulite but we just don't see it on magazine covers, posters or the movie screens.
I agree with the psychologist, Robin, "I don't want to be around people who don't accept me for who I am." You really to have to get in touch with the real you and ask yourself why do you need or desire other people's approval before you can live. |

I only lasted 4, maybe 4 and a half minutes. Turned it off and re focused on something important around here.
Definately not a show I wanted to watch. I'm watching less & less TV in general, and fewer Oprah shows than I used to. I can't do the celebrity shows and the ones that are so outlandish just leave me asking myself .....didn't I have something better to do with my time?? I will however, read the discussion here..........go figure!! ![]() |

I did watch the whole show yesterday and afterwards I felt I could have used that time going to the mall for some items I needed. Blame it on Ima (LOL Ima i'm kidding!) as she asked what did we think about yesterday's show and I did start the thread. My hubby tried to look at the show too, but he is put out with Oprah's interrupting people when they talk. I agree that is a bad habit she has. Oh well, I have to limit my TV watching because the weather is too nice to be in all day and there is housework to do.....ugh! ![]() |

JoyJOy, I watched while walking on my treadmill, but I too, lost interest after a few minutes. At least I got in walking 2 miles. I am so tickled that most people on this forum don't seem to really need all the trappings of glamor that some women do. I am finding so many women on here that thinks like me, and I feel like I am at home. I use to feel like I was the only one that didn't want designer clothes, fancy expensive make up, face lifts, tummy tucks, etc. I just want to be me and I am happy with me.

I agree with you totally, Ima. This is a good forum to belong to because the people on a whole are courteous and considerate and tell it like it is when it comes to saving money, cc, items of interest and great suggestions period! I am a glad you're a part of the group here too! You add a lot of wisdom to the posts here. Things are nice to have and I love to have nice things, but putting value on those things before the love of God, self and the love of family isn't the way I choose to go. |

You are a smart woman, Joyjoy. I have a nice house and I enjoy it, but I don't like wasting money on things I don't really need. That girl has lots of clothes with the tags still on.
