Consumerism is a problem that she helped create (i.e. the "giveaway" show with everything described as a "must have" for the season.) No, she didn't create minimum wage, but her empire certainly contributed to the overconsumption culture.

She came from a very very poor family. VERY POOR. Not to mention her charitable work amounts to more than a dozen of us make a year...

I think her show is far to touchy-feely, she is not my favorite but I have great respect for a woman who has worked her way to the top and gives back so much.
