Exclamation Life Expectancy Calculator

While reviewing my plans for my IRA, I ran across a Life Expectancy Calculator in MSN Money that helps you get some idea of how long life will last for you (genetically speaking) and how much I should be saving for my elder years...

My life expectancy is 102 years of age...

No wonder I've always had the mindset that I will work until I fall out.

Has anyone else utilized these calculators?

hmm 94, based on weight fluctuations, which were due to pregnancy, wonder if I should have answered no to that one?

Oh well I hope I am an active 94!

85 due to smoking, which should change soon. Also due to family conditions that I can't change.

99 years,

top 3:
1. age 2. gender 3. diet

biggest negative factor
-family health

(2 grandparents had cancer, 1 had heart problems)

Which is why I am making a point of working out 3-4 times a week, and eating better.
I'm lower than my ideal weight of 120 for maximum longevity.

I can deal with 99! As long as I'm in good health in those later years.

Yeah! 99 or more. The biggest factor going for my is my age, but I do have family history and complete lack of exercise going against me.
The good news - my ideal weight was slightly higher than my current weight. That has NEVER happened

98 - with weight changes being an issue. Yes, my weight has fluctuated, partly from pregnancy, partly just because. I dropped below the range they listed when I was dieting but was a little above before I dieted.

Wow, I'm impressed, people. My life expectancy is 84 years. It says I need to lose 46 pounds. The three biggest negative factors I have going for me are family health (lost three grandparents to cancer, one before the age of 60), weight, and exercise. The three most positive were age, gender, and personality type. Eh.

88 primarily because of my gender. It also says I need to add around 30lbs, even though I swim regularly and am in very good shape.

According to this I should make it to 98, My biggest concern is weight. According to them I am 32 # overweight. I would have said a little less but not much. I am losing weight (not fast enough) but with Spring coming I hope to get out more if my DH gets healthy. It is really up to the Lord, In the Bible it says I can't add one minute to my time here on earth which I have seen people use as an excuse to do things to excess but it also says my body is a temple fo the Holy Spirit and I don't want to pollute that temple. I remember what Jesus did when He felt the temple was "polluted" and don't want that going on!

That test was majorly skewed... It asked if I had relatives with Juvenile diabetes, but it didn't ask if I had Diabetes (I do). It said 102 so I went back and changed my answer and it only took 6 years off... 96 is a pipe dream.

Lemony, perhaps, but it may also take medical advances into consideration. It's possible we could have a cure (or at least better treatments) for diabetes in the next 10-20 years.

84. *Hey Kashi buddy*

The three biggest positive factors that you have going for you are:
1. Age of grandparents
2. Diet
3. Personality type

The two biggest negative factors that you have going for you are:
1. Gender
2. Weight

My pie in the sky goal weight has been 150 (I'm 192, and my short term goal is 176). But that won't work, I need to get to 148. meh.
