debtfreesteve, you went from $125,000 to being paid off in three months, in just three years? I think when you pay off that last debt, you should throw a BIG party!! I would come!!

No doubt! I'll be the dude dancing in Red. Yes, and most of that was purely paying down the debt.. We sold a new Jeep Liberty, early on, which we were upside down on, so that cut 15k off of debt after we had borrowed the upside down, the rest was up to us.

We had 45k in cc's, around 60k in student loans (about 30 each), 8k was a 401k loan from my wife's former employer, cvs, and the balance was the upside down + the borrowed $ for our 'new' OLD '91 Jeep Laredo (her name was Penny) and our other car.

Actually should've been done about 6 months ago, DW had 2 minor surgeries, we had a baby, and we upgraded Penny (to "Fifty Cent" A 2000 grand cherokee bought at auction)

After Tuesday, we'll have just 9k to go, which is the rest my student loan.

You can see why we are geeked about Dave Ramsey's plan, primarily the get out debt and EF portions...

You have done a fantastic job. Dave Ramsey has really inspired you and you have inspired me!! I have about $30,000 that I owe on a piece of property and I am really trying to get that paid off as soon as possible.

Well, obviously, I will be the happiest when I have NO debt at all and a boat-load of money in the bank. These aren't the only things that make me happy but they sure as heck help.

The next level would be for me to be debt-free except the house. At least then, I can start really saving for retirement, maybe sell the house and actually make a profit and go on vacations a lot more.

I hope that day will be less than two years from now.

Maybe 5 years on the first level. :-)
