Question Re: Closing an ING account ?

Yellow Tree
I am curious as to why you closed your account with ING. I have had nothing but excellent service from them for three years. I did open an ED account as well with the final snail mail letter arriving yesterday (3-4-2006) which allowed me to start moving money in and out. Since ED is offering a better rate I may move my savings there but only after ING's Winter Sale is over next month.
Thanks for your post; at least now I know what will happen if I also decide to ever close my account with ING.
Bill

I closed my ING account because I moved all of my money to HSBC. I liked ING too until I found out that HSBC is offering a much higer rate. ING has a much eaiser user interface and I think they are also faster at transfering money than HSBC is.. But HSBC's rate is higher so I went with it.

I'm wondering if ING is going to kick their rate up nicely after the winter savings - I have been throwing money in there as much as I possibly could to take advantage of the 4.75

Yellowtree,

Don't forget that HSBC's rate is just a promo for the moment just like ING's rate. Not sure what is going to happen to the rates come April. I have accounts in HSBC, ING, and Emigrant to take advantage of all rates.

What happens if ING goes much higher than HSBC after the promo is over?
