Do you ever pay late charges?

I have a friend that just automatically pays late fees on everything. every car payment is late. Why?

I've never paid them voluntarily! I do goof up on occasion but am getting better.

I have a land mortgage that charges me $66 if I am one day late. I make the payment every 28 days. that way I can see my interest go down, and I keep paying earlier nad earlier.

Not unless I cannot humanly make it earlier then on time. I do have to admit, I procrastinate to keep money in my account longer racking up interest...

Haven't paid late charges in a few years now as the total number of debts have decreased to 4 and this makes it easier to mail out the payments as soon as they come in.

not any more--but I have most my payments come directly to my debit card, or direclty out of my checking account.

No I don't pay late payments unless it's a goof up on my part. Doesn't happen too often which is a good thing because I really hate those late charges.

Not usually. I did miss making the payment on my gas bill when we moved because the bill got lost in the shuffle. But now it is set up on autodraft and all is good. Most bills are autodrafted now.

I rarely do...but sometimes slip up. A few months ago I got socked with a late fee on a cc - ouch. Now I pay the minimum online as soon as I get the bill, then pay the bill in full later that month, just in case I forget - I will have to pay the minimal interest, but not the fee. Plus I have started to put the due dates in my day planner so I don't slip up again.

Mine are almost all auto deducted, before that I paid way to many on 'oops forgot'.

I also mail what I can for the CC right away, even if more money is comming soon, cause I would rather pay more interest than a late fee (though the amount is often similar)

I don't think I have ever paid a late fee. I write my bills down on a piece of paper every month, then sit down twice a month to pay them. I cross them off when they are paid. I only remember paying a bill late once in my life. I mailed the electric bill without a stamp. It took two weeks to get back to me.

When I was young & stupid I paid quite a few late charges. Fortunately, I grew up and became responsible.

Once in a while I misplace a bill (typically somone in our house was mess'n with my desk) & assume because it's not there that I paid it.

Well, in a way I do lol! I always wrote my house payment for the amount shown if paid after date plus extra. I mailed it out WAY before that date. It gives me extra to the mortgage. Never paid it because I was actually late. Kind of a mind game I play to pay off more debt.

I have most of my stuff set up on autopay so no. In the really rare instance when I do miss a payment I usually get the penalty waived by threatening them to use another service and it usually works.

Nope, no late fees here, way back when I was young and stupid I did have a few but they REALLY upset me! Now every bill is paid the day it comes in the mail, I get the mail and come right to the computer, if there's a bill in the mail it gets paid online that day, marked paid and tossed onto hubbies desk to be filed.

Twoanddone, that is a smart way to prepay your mortgage. I have never thought of that. I pay as much extra on my land payment every month. So far, I have been able to scrape up $1000 extra every month. Don't know how long that will last.

nope not if I can help it I do more on the water bill than I should but it went from being due every 3 months for years to being due every month that for some reason I am still trying to keep up with actually before I moved here I didnt even have a water bill I lived in a trailer & water was included with lot rent so I dont know the whole thing has been hard to get used to & I seem to be late alot more than I care to admit on that but everything else I am never late on ever

No, I have all of my bills automatically taken out of my credit card or checking account.
