Today was another installment of the Debt Diet. Alot was going on but one thing that got my attention was a viewer who got on the debt diet and discovered she was spending $1000/yr on.........magazine subscriptions!!!!!

Honestly, don't people examine their spending habits???

Speaking of magazine subscriptions, I recommend budgetmags.com. Their subscription prices are dirt cheap, and my order went smoothly, no problems.

Today, April 7, it was good to see the three couples making headway with their prospective money coaches. Good to see many people taking part in Oprah's Debt Diet Show as well. It does lift your morale and make for fun times with your family/spouse when you don't have the burden of debt on your shoulders or atleast you have a plan and that's half the battle there. Some people want to get out of debt like that young lady today who is $107,000.00 in debt! She is so young and in school with small children and taking vacations too LOL. Oprah admonished her about going on vacations lol.

I look forward to seeing how people are living on minimum wage next Friday (April 14) on Oprah.

I wish I could get my dh too see the light like some of those guys on todays show!! that first guy was unbelievable.

He thinks thier is no reason I cant save money when he gives me $300 a week btw that is for all the bills & I mean all of them & we have 3 kids!! I do work pt though making around $150 a week with free babysitting because of MY MOM but I still feel I am looking every week on new ways to save & make more & he is looking for ways every week to spend more I am so sick of it. I feel if things dont change it will end in divorce in the future.

I got to watch this one with DD1- she is in the baby steps of rebounding from debt, so I am grateful that Oprah tackled this topic this year...timing couldn't have been better!

It was so inspiring to see where each will be in 30 years if they keep this momentum...those three couples have come A LONG WAY!!! wow

I keep on forgetting to watch these shows but love hearing everyone's opinion on it.

While Oprah is not my favorite, I think that she is doing a good service by tackling the debt subject.

Snoopy, I hate to hear that. You two need to sit down and talk. Tape the show and ask him to watch. It might be the wake up call he needs.

You should do what you feel is right for you and your children. My husband used to be like yours. Spend, spend spend. When he was away with work I would go to pay the bills and find out that our account was nil.
How did I get him to change. I left . It gave him the wake up he needed.
Now we are back together and are saving heaps. I hope it works out for you.
