How much in debt are you?
So, how much in debt are you? You can use this thread as a way to come clean and to monitor your debt reduction-to see how far you've come over time.
Car Loans-$4,450
Mortgage- $60,125
School Loan-$8,785
Credit Cards-$6,410
Personal loan-$725
Grand total of ONLY $80,495
Yes it looks overwelming...but not impossible.
Next step is to make a plan...a legal plan!

Re: How much in debt are you?
Car Loan: $3800
Furniture Loan: $2200
Mortgage: $211,000
The first two simple enough. The last, it's a long term project.

Re: How much in debt are you?
Debt: zero.
-(one credit card with a $1,000 limit, nothing on it, just went from an unsecured card in October.)
-(2000 Saturn bought for cash in 6/03).
I have a real thing about debt, had bad credit die to medical, legal, and consumer debts, about $5k, in early nineties. $5k seems small now, but at the time it was crushing, really crushing. Paying evertyhing off on a small income (min wage part time, then $6-7 "full time"-37.5 hours) was hard but it felt so good. Debt scares me so much now.
However, I have no real assets. No house/mortgage. Part is being in California-the prices are just crazy. Part is fear. Fear of the debt, even though a mortgage can be good debt, and fear of the process. I have a County Employee pension, and a deferred comp plan, and a baby IRA, but really don't know much about any of them. Fear, again. I have too much cash (I think) in a regular low interest savings.
I though no debt would be the final goal, but I am ready to go the the next stage and it's almost comical how long it's been since I've had no debt that I haven't taken more pro-active steps regarding retirement, investment, and purchasing a house.

Re: How much in debt are you?
Mortgage- a billion (thats what it feels like)
Car - a ton (feels like)
CC - 3000 (pretty close to accurate) -edit down, looked at last statement, better than I thought .
I only feel confidant about getting rid of the CC, once that is done I will look at the other stuff, might even learn the real numbers .

Re: How much in debt are you?
College Loan 1: $1,528
College Loan 2: $12,619
Credit cards: variable but paid off every month
I guess I shouldn't be too hard on myself, since I started out with $23,170 in loans four years ago. Interest has sucked up a healthy portion of my repayment amounts, unfortunately. Making progress, though!

Re: How much in debt are you?
Ugh. It's just mortgages, but still...
$388,000!!!
This is for a condo and a townhouse - one is a rental, so it pays for itself on a monthly basis.
I pay all my CC balances monthly, and paid off my car this past February.

No debt. But we're looking to get into a house w/in a year, so there'll be some (hopefully as little as possible) there.

Zero debt. Since hubby and I both retired at 40, I'm looking to keep it that way.

Mortage: Don't own a house
Car: Paid off 97 Honda
CC: ~$900 -- could pay it off with money in savings, but with my job situation not stable yet, am paying the min X 2 each month + anything I put on it new.
