I think it'll be difficult to find one that pays more than 5% without an annual fee. Chase PerfectCard offers 6% for the first 3 months.
I use the Citibank Platinum Dividend card for 5% back at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations. I use the Costco American Express card for 3% back at restaurants and fast food joints, and 1% back at Costco (only credit card Costco accepts). I use Chase Platinum for travel rewards (equivalent about 1.5% in rewards) for everything else or when I hit my reward limit on the Citibank card. |

Update on the Citibank Platinum Dividends card. They're offering 5% cash back at department stores until the end of the year. If you have this card, look for something from them in the mail. The offer must be activated by phone or through their web site (but it's free).
