Now or never bid leads to Elvis eBay lawsuit

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A 66-year-old man has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia against a New York man who reneged on a bid he made on eBay to buy a 1969 Mercedes Benz that was once owned by Elvis Presley.

In his lawsuit, Gene Epstein of Wrightstown, Pa., claims that Jason Shepherd of Ballston Lake, N.Y., entered a "buy-it-now" bid of $245,000 for the vehicle.

But when it came time to collect, Shepherd allegedly claimed that the bid was a mistake made when his daughter accidentally hit a key on his computer, Epstein said.

This would be interesting to follow up on. Mr Epstein will have to prove without doubt that Mr Shepherd pulled out of his bid, instead of a genuine mistake while surfing.
