Home Sales Set New Record

If there was any doubt that housing is a hot market, a new report from the National Association of Realtors erases all doubt. According to their report, existing home sales jumped to an annual pace of 7.33 million homes in June, a new record. This compared with a pace of 7.13 million homes reported in May.




Along with the strong sales data of existing homes, prices are still hot as ever. The national median (the point at which half the home sell for more and half sell for less) price for existing homes of all housing types jumped to $219,000 in June. This was an increase of 14.7% and the largest year-to-year increase since November 1980.
