Would have been nice for the company to notify them long before the bill got to 6 figures to make sure they knew what was going on, even though it was their own fault for not checking on how their plan worked outside of the country. Before we left the country last year, we checked and double checked what the rates and charges would be for texting and calling. And we made sure that everyone we knew was aware that we'd be out of the country so that they wouldn't call or text us while we were gone.

That's happened repeatedly to guys out here in Japan, sometimes without even intentionally doing it... People will take their iPhone from here back to the states, and not think to turn off the data while there. So the entire time they're back in the states (normally 2-3 weeks at a time), they're getting charged international data fees because the iPhone was keeping their (unused) apps up to date. They come home to a 5-figure phone bill and about lose it. I've never heard about how those situations have been resolved.......
