Two Tucson women made a living stealing high-priced clothes and reselling them to secondhand stores, police said Thursday.
For the last five years, Vernell Anderson, 49, and Cecelia Wilson, 55, stole women's clothing from Dillard's, Sears, JCPenney and Kohl's stores, police Detective John Stamatopoulos said. I was once a jury for train robbers they would break into the trains at a holding center and steal van load after van load of stuff it took the railroad more than three years to pin point where exactly the trains where being broken into it was estimated that stole over a million dollars worth of stuff over 3 years. the court room looked like a wharehouse and the DA only brought out 1 of each thing they had stolen.

Just think of all those who do not get caught. All that does, is drive up the prices for the rest of us.

What surprised me most about this is how little they got for everything they stole
"When they sold the clothes to secondhand stores, Stamatopoulos said, the women got about $1,200 for every $30,000 worth of goods." I don't know if that means that clothes overall are overpriced or if second hand stores are making a killing. |

It's hard for me to imagine how these two could've entertained - even for a second - a viable motive for this theft. There's such a thing as sleeping well at night, and it means being able to rest your head on the pillow without remorse, regret, and shame.
Had they done legitimate work in return for a wage, they could've slept soundly and earned money. I really can't understand it. And as one previous poster said, we're all footing the bill for shoplifters through the higher prices we're forced to pay. |
