Time to take a step up from working on the budgets of the people asking for help in the forums and work your magic on the federal deficit - what steps would you take to get the budget back in order?

Where do we start with every other person on the forums? Rule #1: Spend less than you earn.

I'm not seeing where the participant has any options other than the extremely limited ones offered by the puzzle.

Where is the fazeout SS/medicare and downsize medicaid option?

Where is the reduction in forces worldwide option?

Where is the eliminate the departments of Agriculture, education and others?

Where is the eliminate the minimum wage and limit unemployment to three months.

Where is the eliminate taxation on production and apply a national consumption tax?

Very creative piece. I've always enjoyed the NYT interactive posts. I came across this on the 15th as well and wrote about it on my blog. Now if politicians would move forward with some of the ideas!
