Default Kelloggs Offers Free Healthy Beginnings Health Check Program

Kellogg's has launched a basic health check program through major food retailers at no cost for anyone that wants it. Called the Healthy Beginnings Health Check Program, it includes complimentary blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index (BMI) screenings as well as fiber assessment.

The program is a country wide team effort by Kellogg's with major food retailers Kroger (including Kroger units Fry's, Dillons and King Soopers), ShopRite, Publix and Wal-Mart. Anyone shopping at participating stores will have the opportunity to do the following:

* Participate in a free health screening – a $25 value that includes a cholesterol test, blood pressure check, dietary fiber intake assessment and body mass index screening

* Complete a free Personal Health Assessment

* Receive a free high-value health kit containing health information and healthy food coupons.

According to Christine Lowry, vice president of nutrition, Kellogg's “...created this unique nutrition education program so that consumers not only can learn more about Kellogg’s Healthy Beginnings cereals, but also about the health issues to which these products can make positive contributions, including heart health, digestive health and weight management.”

The Healthy Beginnings Health Check events are already underway at ShopRite pharmacies in the northeast. Both Publix and Kroger are set to launch the program shortly while Wal-Mart will introduce the health checks at their stores this summer.
