Americans continue to love their credit cards with increasing abundance. According to CardData, there are now over 1.4 trillion payment cards sitting in the wallets and purses at the end of the 2004. Those payment cards included 657 million bank credit cards, 228 million debit cards, and 550 million retail credit cards.
These numbers inducate that there are now more than 6 bank credit cards, 2 debit cards, and 6 retail credit cards per household in the US for a total of close to 15 credit cards per household. This is up from 3.4 bank credit cards, 0.1 debit cards, and 4.1 retail credit cards in 1990. |
