Man Robs Own Mother

Police say a 40-year-old man accused of robbing two banks also robbed his mother to support his crack cocaine addiction. George Burgess was arrested Monday in front of an M&T Bank branch he was planning to rob, Syracuse Police spokesman Sgt. Tom Connellan said. Police began searching for Burgess Saturday after a 65-year-old woman reported her son had followed her into a grocery store asking for money.
