Default Rich people in Ohio get food stamps

A loophole in Ohio's public assistance plan allows wealthy people to collect food stamps.

Interesting- I am going to try to repost that link to my FB page.

There is more loopholes than the short piece mentioned. Wife and I were eligible when our twins were born early- (based on birthweight I think). We make 120k+ per year.

Another example of a well-run government program.

This is yet another example of how poorly managed this system truly is. I'm not the least bit surprised at this loophole. I'll bet if you really dug into things you'd find loopholes that would really shock you. I grew up and worked around this stuff and know precisely how the game is played.

That's the tip of the iceberg with foodstamps. You wouldn't believe what an incredible bartering item they are on the street. They are sold to buy alcohol, drugs, and often traded for sex. This is an unbelievably abused system. Even when they're used legitimately they are often used to buy low quality junk food that doesn't serve their purpose. There are many, if not most, who use them as intended but abuse at many levels is rampant. The gov't looks the other way at the abuse and lack of regulation , unfortunately.

Heh, heh! Foodstamps are killing the American economy - let's forget the bank and investor frauds and focus on the real evil - food stamp fraud. The fraud/cost overruns in one Defense program/contract would fund food stamps for years.

Lets regulate them but not the banks.

I had a friend on welfare and she could not have any money at all and her car could not be worth over 2K that was about 20 years ago

I find it funny in the clip that they are getting "poor" to hate on the "rich"
the gal in the video would be mad in she did not get her food stamps because someone she considered rich needed food

I wish we would only give out food, seems like it would be better use of the money to buy food in bulk and distribute it than dole it out money

I hate to see any one who needs food not be able to get food

That is really sad. I know someone who lost their job and basically almost the brink of homelessness, and somehow, they don't qualify. Shameful...
