Numbers Say Democrats are better for the economy than Republicans

Numbers from the Economic Report from the President show that Democrats Presidents end up being better for the economy than Republican Presidents

Things like this are deceiving for many reasons:

1) who controlled congress
2) did the economy do something in last year of one presidency or first year of next?
a) The economy tanked in year 8 of Clinton and Bush just has not gotten us out of it in 8 years- it could be argued Clinton's policies caused Bush's economy.
b) the same way the economy will turn around in 2009 and if Obama is pres, the Bush tax cuts are among the reasons the economy turned around.

Same thing happened with Bush Sr transitioning to Clinton.

There's a definite correlation. It would be almost impossible to prove causation though.
