I actually went through the self exclusion process for the casinos where I live because I had a serious problem over 4 years ago. The threat of being arrested was enough to keep me out. I haven't gone to a casino since.

Ditto the above comment. It must all be the casino's fault that someone repeatedly goes in after voluntarily signing something that's supposed to keep them out. Where is the accountability of these adults? My DH is an alcoholic, but if he decided to go off the wagon and visit a bar, he wouldn't sue the establishment. It's up to him to not do it.

What are they supposed to do anyways? ID every single person as they walk through the door just to make sure they're not on some voluntary list??

I'm all for personal responsibility, but I'd love to know one thing. When someone puts themselves on the exclusion list, does the casino take that person off the mailing list or do they continue to bombard them with promo offers, comps, giveaways, etc.? I know I get mail from the casino every week enticing me to come down with some offer, free rooms, cash, merchandise, etc. If I had a problem and was trying to stay away and they kept sending that stuff, it would make it a lot harder.
