Off-topic rant: What is it with the misuse of the world "literally"?

He's literally burning money; he spent $64,000 on diesel in the last eight months.

Mr. Griffith is not literally burning money. Taking a lighter to a $20 bill is literally burning money. Spending a lot on gas is figuratively burning money.

Regardless of the language used in this article.... it's a real problem and there is no end to the price hikes we will continue to see from oil/fuel costs.

Groceries need to get to the market; EVERYTHING depends on the transportation industry.
