Default Gasoline Prices Continue To Fall

The past couple of weeks has seen some good news for those hit hard by current gasoline prices. An increasing supply of crude oil supplies and the continued recovery of the U.S. offshore oil production from earlier hurricanes have combined helped to lower gas prices at the pump.

Gasoline prices have dropped nearly 3 cents per gallon over the last 14 days to an average of $1.96. The result is that gasoline prices have fallen 11 cents per gallon since October 22. The highest price for regular self-serve gas is in Honolulu, Hawaii at $2.32 a gallon while Tulsa Oklahoma has the best price at $1.73 a gallon.

Even with the lower prices, gasoline prices can still put a hefty dent into your budget if you don't take steps to keep your gasoline consumption under control. When you consider that lowering the the cost of driving your car by a penny a mile will save you $200 a year, it is worth adopting as many of the gas money saving tips as you can.

Frankly, I'm surprised at the drop in prices. Then again our State Attorney General has been very aggressive in her crackdown on price gouging by station owners. She made them offer gas at reduced prices to their patrons as punishment.
