Default Celebrate Buy Nothing Day responsibly

[H]ere's a holiday that would actually be good to celebrate: November 23 -- National Buy Nothing Day.

As the website points out, there are a lot of great reasons to celebrate: buying less is good for the environment, good for your house (less clutter), and great for your wallet. Plus, some research suggests that owning lots of consumer goods just makes you want more.

I think I would rather celebrate by staying home than going to the trouble of finding a parking spot just to try their "Whirl-Mart".....

Indeed. I don't see the win in irritating lowly-paid security personnel who already have crazed shoppers to deal with. Why not stay home, buy used or barter and irritate the store stockholders instead?

If you want to really save money, just stay home. For a couple of years now, I have opted out of the craziness of that day unless I was really out to buy an expensive item.
