12 Days Of Christmas Cost More Money
The cost of the 12 Days of Christmas (all 364 items) inched upward 1.6% this year to $66,334 from $65,264 last year according to PNC Advisors annual tongue-in-cheek Christmas Price Index. Purchasing one of each of the items listed would cost $17,297 which is up 2.4% over last year.
While the overall Christmas Price Index increased slightly, three French hens soared 200% in price to $45. Six geese-a-laying also posted a healthy 40% increase to $210. Two turtle doves could be had at a bargain price of $40, a 31% decline from last year.
For those looking for more modern gifts, a new Jaguar, a BMW 7 Series, a Mercedes-Benz or a 1949 Rolex would all cost about the same as the full 12 Days of Christmas according to PNC Advisors. You could also substitute Mini Cooper, a ride in a Russian MiG jet fighter, a four-hectare ranch in Colorado or a 1920s baseball signed by Babe Ruth if your plan was only to purchase each of the items once.
