More Credit Card Offers Coming Your Way
You can expect a new wave of credit card offers to start appearing in your mailbox soon. With the Supreme Court letting a lower court ruling stand that Visa and MasterCard credit card rules were "exclusionary," Visa and Mastercard can no longer prevent banks that offer their cards from also offering American Express and Discover credit cards.
As a result, American Express has teamed up with affinity card giant MBNA. That means that you should soon begin to see credit card offers for charities, organizations, universities and the like with the American Express logo in your mail. Chances are that Discover affinity cards will not be far behind.
Credit card followers say that this development is a two edged sword. With more competition, their should be better credit card offers available, but these will come hidden among an increase of credit card junk mail.
For those who have no desire of more credit card offers filling their mailboxes, you can prevent a large number of them from reaching you. To have your name removed from credit and insurance offer mailing lists kept by Equifax, Experian, INNOVIS and TransUnion you can call 888-5OPT-OUT (888-567-8688). They will then send you a form that you must fill out and send back and you will be removed from their lists which should reduce this junk mail.
