We are deluged with TV and print ads for cars. Here’s a new medium: keys. Nissan North America has scattered 20,000 key rings across the country as part of its promotion for the 2007 Nissan Altima. The key rings were dropped in bars, sports arenas, concert halls, and lounges at 50 sites in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Washington, DC.
No, you don’t win a free car if you find a key ring. However, you do get a chance to enter a sweepstakes for a $15 gas card or a subscription to Vibe magazine. Each key ring has several keys and tags. One tag says “If found, please do not return,” because the Altima has a push-button ignition system – no key is required.
