Will business owners rush to buy a big sport-utility vehicle and get a $100,000 tax break before it expires?

It's too early to tell, car dealers say. Rising gas prices might stall sales of big SUVs, adds Art Spinella of CNW Marketing Research in Bandon, Ore.

But as word spreads that the tax loophole is ending, sales could pick up among businesses looking for year-end tax breaks.

Congress passed and President Bush is expected to sign into law a corporate tax bill that — among other things — would make sport-utility vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds subject to the same $25,000 tax break as other vehicles used by businesses.
