Default 'Product sabotage' helps consumers

Why would a company deliberately damage its best product?

Many hi-tech companies do that, and even my favourite local restaurant does.

It doesn't sound like a winning formula, but it's at the heart of the way many companies do business.

K so this isn't really funny, I put it in the wrong forum but I think it is interesting to note (if you live in the right starbucks area you might want to ask for the small...for health reasons if not money)

but I wondered just how much our willingness to pay effects the price...since it is supply and demand, if we stop using/buy/consuming products at rediculously high prices..maybe they would come down..

this prolly wont work well for things we really need (you gotta eat) but I bet if the consuption of say movie tickets that cost more than the dinner out went down the price would at least stop rising..

Thanks! Very GOOD Article! It will teach me to keep a better eye on what is going on...even though I am aware of Grocery store tricks. I want to go to Starbucks and ask for the Short Cappincino now LOL
