Debt Reduction Scams

Not only do those trying to reduce their debt have to worry about getting their debt under control, they also have to be wary of the scams out there that specifically prey on people with money troubles. These work because they promise those in debt what appears to be an easy way to get out from under their debt, but in reality they leave their victims in even worse financial shape. One of these claims that bank credit cards are operating illegally and therefore there is no need to pay:

Through strange leaps of logic, the scammers claim that credit card banks are actually operating illegally, and so you never really borrowed any money when you used your credit cards! Therefore, you don’t really need to pay anything back. You just have to follow their system and the debts will go away because the banks don’t want this knowledge disclosed to the public! The old adage that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is rings loud and clear here. Debt reduction can be accomplished, but it won't be an easy fix. Take the proper steps to reduce your debt and get your personal finances in order and steer clear of all those that say they can get rid of your debts easily if you pay them to show you how.

scams are more so, than they used to be... we have a guy that lives in our area, someplace who calls up saying he is with the police and tries to scam money out of us.....the paper had an article about him. they still have not caught him...........
