Poor or Fat? Survey Says We'd Rather Be Poor
According to a new survey from Fitness Magazine, the majority of women (63%) and men (55%) would choose to be poor at their ideal weight than rich and substantially overweight. More than half of both women (58%) and men (54%) also say they'd prefer to have no job rather than have 75 extra pounds of weight to carry around.
While most were willing to trade money for fat, the same wasn't true with intelligence. Three out of four men and four out of five of women indicated that they would be unwilling to trade 20 intelligence-quotient points for the perfect body.
The findings came from polling 1,007 people with the results due to appear in the June issue of Fitness Magazine. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1%.
