Default HSBC Raises Online Interst Rates To 4.8%

It appears that HSBC has raised their interest rates to 4.8%. This currently isn't reflected in the advertisements on the main pages of the site, but has been updated on their rate page and has been confirmed by several people. The new rate is good through the end of April. ING recently introduced.

Either way, since HSBC is currently offering a $25 sign up bonus through February 15 with only a $1 deposit, it may be worthwhile to open an account for your emergency fund savings.

Thanks to pyotr in the forums

What's up yall? I'm new here. I'm happy that I now get 4.8% in my savings, but it's only thru 4-30-06 according to bankrate.com. Let's just all hope that after 4-30-06 that it will at least be around 4.5% permenantly

Ah Geez... That won't save you much at the end. I have a HSBC credit card and they charge me $15 for cash advances. I didn't even know until I get the bill!
