Man Receives $8,095 Gas Bill

Lewis Miller joked with his son as he opened his gas bill that the amount likely would give him a heart attack. Then, he saw that The Energy Cooperative of Newark had billed him $8,095 for the first nine days of service on his new account for his apartment.

I'm not surprised.

I worked for a company that had a unused warehouse. The electric meter reader couldn't believe that there was no usage (the needle never moved) so he just went ahead and figured it made a complete revolution. This generated a bill of over $50k for the month!

While trying to iron this mess out with the electric company, the next month bill is generated (estimated reading every other month) based on the prior months bill. Total now owed......$100K!!!!!

OMG, what a mess that was.
