Airline Low Price Guarantee

Continental Airlines (CAL) this week becomes the first airline to jump aboard the low-price-guarantee bandwagon for tickets bought through its Web site.
Following a widespread practice in the hotel industry, Continental is promising travelers a 10% discount on a future flight if they can find a published fare that beats continental.com. The offer is good for tickets bought by Sept. 6, for travel Oct. 1 through Dec. 31.

Continental's guarantee covers other airlines' fares "on the same itinerary," a qualification that may limit its exposure.
