Default Suggestion on blog presentation

I don't know what the software package you are using can and can't do, but I saw the following on some other blogs I was surfing and really liked it:

When viewing somebody's full blog, or after clicking on a catagory, currently the full text of each entry is displayed. What would be nice would be to see the title and first paragraph of each entry, followed by a link to Read More that would expand the rest of the entry. This would allow the reader to quickly scan for old entries that are of interest to him or her.

The main blog page does exactly this if you click on "More Entries" under the Latest Entries column.

It would be pretty cool, if we could design and upload our own headers.

We had it this way and a lot of members complained that they had to click too much. Perhaps this is best to setup as a personal setting in control panels.

My blog automatically started doing this (making everything a summary) when I had never changed the settings. Every time I try to reset it to full entries it keeps jumping back to the summaries.

Why is this happening?

baking:

it looks like nate put the code into the settings of our blogs, and it currently defaults to the 'summary' option.

go to your control panel, select settings, and look for this:

Viewing Preferences Entry Length: Summary Full

it's between 'Author Info' and 'Notifications'
