Kmart has now established a generous discount program called Smart Assist to help unemployed customers this year. Those who are currently unemployed can save 20% on select store-brand merchandise (including diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, laundry detergent and snack crackers) for up to six months with this program. To apply for this program at Kmart, you'll just need to show them a driver’s license along with a state-issued unemployment benefits confirmation. Then, you'll get your Kmart Smart Assist discount card, and you'll be set to save.
