I already signed up for mine, and was coming over here to post a link for everyone, but you beat me to it safari! Thanks for thinking of everyone else too! I hope lots of folks take advantage of this easy earning op.

They are also offering 2% on 12 month CDs today as well.

Default Great Savings account deal!

I missed this one but I recently got a $100 bonus for opening a Chase account and Bank of America was doing the same thing for a while. Take a look at those if you missed the ING deal.

Gee, just missed it! However, they, and several other companies, offer such deals from time to time. Probably again in some months.

I signed up for this account, thank you very much.

I have a question about using the debit card for a signed transaction. When I am asked "debit or credit" at point of sale, do I just say "credit"? And at that point they ask for a signature? I've had a debit card run as a credit card numerous times, but I don't remember being asked for a signature.

(Heck, on regular bank credit cards, I am increasingly not asked for a signature.)

So might I have any trouble finding a situation in which I can do a signed transaction?

Joan, I think your right about running it as credit, but I'd check ING's website or email customer service to be clear.

I skipped this offer, although tempting, because I read that agreeing to the checking account also opened a line of credit. That I don't need.

Yes. I had trouble signing up and had to call ING. The very helpful customer service person told me that running as credit would ensure it was a "signature purchase".

Can't wait to get my card in the mail!

It does open a line of credit but you had the option to choose how much credit. I set mine to 0.00.

Yeah, I missed this deal too.

I got the Wachovia one earlier, where they paid $50.

Uh, the way I understood the line of credit is that you get it even if you set it to 0.00! Because the line of credit is really an overdraft protection and they WILL allow you to overdraft even if you set it to 0.00! No doubt they know they will make a certain amount of $$$ on the overdraft protection. The percent rates were given in the terms of agreement.

Nonetheless, I set mine to $0.00 as a statement to ING that I do not want such a thing. (Not that anyone will even be aware of it or interpret that as my message. )
