You know, if you're really going long, you don't need a trailing stop....

Just hang on to it. No need to scrutinize it so closely either.

All this is typically short-term trading strategy, and not always appropriate for going long....

I changed my mind on V. I made some money off the initial frenzy and cashed out at 63.50. I'm sure it will go up, but the PE is something like 39 or some ridiculous number and there are too many other blue chip stocks out there trading at multi-year lows for me to dump cash into an overvalued stock. I have no doubt it will go up, but I'm betting there are a TON of stocks that will outperform V over the next year as the market recovers....well outperfom the bulk who bought in at mid=50's and up, not the big boys who got in early.

Sorry to hear that Taribor. VISA now trading plus $83.00 today. See if it can hold it. I'm up 40% from my original price. Don't plan to sold anytime soon. I plan to add some more shares when it dips again.

Skooby,

Did put a stop loss or trailing % in case it goes south, or are you long on this stock?
