I have a private matter question regarding opening up an account at Capital One. I have yet to open the account and I am VERY sensitive to what my bank statement will show.
I want to know exactly what my personal bank statement says when I transfer money from my bank to Capital One. I don't care what it says on my Capital One statement, it's my other bank statement that I care about. Does it say something different when I open the account (when they check to see if I have a valid account) vs. when I move $1000 from my bank to capital one? Thanks for the help. |

Are you trying to move money around without someone else knowing?

I don't use Capital One, but in any case I'd just call them, explain the need for privacy and ask "What will it show on my bank statement?"

I actually called them twice and I got the same answer. "I don't know, I never had that question before". They then put me on hold and made several calls with no luck.
They were very nice, but were not confident. |

My Emigrant Direct acct shows the following from the verification deposits:
CAPITAL1 VERIFY YOURNAME My Discover Bank acct from a transfer shows: CAPITAL1 xxxxxxx FEE 00.00 |

I haven't done a transfer from CapitalOne to EmigrantDirect yet, but I have done a pull using CapitalOne from my local checking account and it showed this in my online banking local account:
ACH FEE $00.00 xxxxxxx CAPITAL1 xxxxxxx |

I'm sorry, I wrote a poor question. When you move money from your local back to Emigrant what does your local bank statement say regarding Emigrant?
Thanks again. |

Yes it is!

It all depends what side of the story. If 'family member' is trying to control and the situation is bad.....say an abused women trying to get herself and a kid out and to a safe place...then way to go, I'd help all I could. If it's someone trying to steal...shame on them. But we have no way of knowing...do we?

My thoughts exactly boefixepa - getting your cash ducks lined up to make a move away from what might be an abusive situation can be difficult to orchestrate. And if poster is trying to pull a fast one, there is likely nothing we'll say that would convince them otherwise. I'd vote for number #1 scenario as most slicksters would not be out on the internet cruising for answers, but I might warn you Hiddenmess if you are in an abusive situation then some abusers do put software on computers to log your keystrokes, so please be careful!

If this is a case of an abusive situation, I definitely sympathize and wish the OP the best.
But don't you think that the offender is going to get REALLY angry once he sees a big wad of cash gone from his account? Regardless of the circumstances here, I have a feeling this is not going to end well. |
