Default Best CD rate

I am looking for either a 3 month or 6 month CD. I have done the 1/2/3 year ladder and have regretted since the interest rate jumped up as soon as I did it. I don't want to tie up the money to a lower rate instead, I want to ladder a 3 or 6 month.

I have the emigrant and ing but the emigrant is at 5.35% and ing at 5%. Anything better out there?

Thanks in advance!

AmTrust Direct has a 6-month at 5.5% APY.

Bankrate.com's best 3-month is only 5.1 so you would be better off leaving your money in Emigrant.

Thanks. It looks like the rate is not that higher than ED. I'll keep it in saving for now!

Where do you live? There might be a credit union near you that is offering 6% apy or higher. Patelco credit union is offering 6.0% apy on cds starting at 12 months if you'd consider a longer term deposit account.

With a flat yield curve and if you are in a high state tax bracket than you should take a look at 6-month t-bills.
