I am looking for either a 3 month or 6 month CD. I have done the 1/2/3 year ladder and have regretted since the interest rate jumped up as soon as I did it. I don't want to tie up the money to a lower rate instead, I want to ladder a 3 or 6 month.
I have the emigrant and ing but the emigrant is at 5.35% and ing at 5%. Anything better out there? Thanks in advance! |

IndyMac Bank is currently offering 5.40% APY on a 3 month CD.

AmTrust Direct has a 6-month at 5.5% APY.
Bankrate.com's best 3-month is only 5.1 so you would be better off leaving your money in Emigrant. |

Millenium Bank has a 6 month CD at 5.60% APY (min. 1,000)

Where do you live? There might be a credit union near you that is offering 6% apy or higher. Patelco credit union is offering 6.0% apy on cds starting at 12 months if you'd consider a longer term deposit account.
