GMAC Bank vs Emigrant Direct

Which one do you prefer? I really like Emigrant, have yet to open up a account with GMAC.

I have not used either, so take this comment for what it is worth, but as long as I didn't mind maintaining the $500 minimum, I'd probably go with GMAC -- between those two that is.

When Emigrant unveils their new website, I think GMAC and ING and all the other banks will see funds quickly leaving their accounts for the 'New' Emigrant Direct. Do you see that happening, I have heard alot lot about the new Emigrant website, I guess only time will tell. How many other people got that free gift, they sent out a baseball cap which I really like, how many other people also got the baseball cap?

GMAC offers me more services than does Emigrant for a very small difference in rates.

In no way would the design of the website affect my decision about which to go with.

well, scratch that, I just noticed GMAC is at 5.05% vs. 5% for ED.
