Yeah, I'm gonna do that, I still gotta keep $500 though, so I don't get charged no fees.

Hmmm, They are only at 3.4% I was thinking about something higher...but they do have a signup bonus.

What is wrong with this man. Someone needs to go shave his beard off or something. Maybe that will make him gain sannity. Doesn't he know he is inviting in inflation. Oh gosh, if he does anything close to 75 basis points, commodities are going to go haywire. Personally, I don't understand bernanke's strategy at all. First off, Greenspan set interest rates artificially low and helped spur on the housing bubble. Now dealing with the subprime and credit crisis caused by the housing bubble, Bernanke thinks he can save us by lowering interest rates again. Who gave this man a degree. Am I just crazy, or is bernanke on a mission to ruin our economy.

That's what happens when countries go off the gold standard and start printing money out of thin air.

Unfortunately, it looks like we're in stagflation as well and that's a double whammy.

FlagStar Bank is offering 4.25% APY money market accounts with $1 deposit, no fee, no minimum balance requirements and free checks for life. Does anyone have an account with them?

That offer must vary by region. The highest yield I see listed on their site is 1.5%, and that's for balances over 100K.

I entered a California zip code, and it showed 4.25% APY, even though they don't have any branches in California.

ING down to 3.10. I was just about to open an account with them...I think i'll pass for now.

The online banks are still paying higher than most of the brick and mortar banks. I had a promotional money market rate with my bank for 6 months which will be up tomorrow. I called today to find out that their highest rate is 1.73 if you have at least 30,999 and up to invest.

I think that this market is going to trade sideways for a while. You will probably see another drop after all of the IRA- 401K money gets paid in for 2007.
